A native of Corinth, MS, Dr. Payne attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University. He graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After graduating, Dr. Payne spent one year in Memphis, TN, before moving to Oxford and joining the Animal Clinic of Oxford.
Dr. Payne enjoys training and trialing his labrador retrievers in licensed UKC and AKC hunt tests. He also raises one to two litters of puppies a year. He is an avid duck hunter and also enjoys fishing.
Dr. Payne’s special interests are in canine reproduction and soft tissue surgery. He is a member of the Society for Theriogenology.
Dr. Payne's wife, Rachel, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law. They have three children: Peyton, Brack, and Warren. They are active members of Christ Presbyterian Church.
